What Wool Comes With the Kit?
Our kits contain Koigu’s exquisite DK weight merino superwash wool. The wool is spun from the finest merino sheep in the world. Plied for durability, this lightweight wool is soft, silky, and retains the natural elasticity of merino.
In addition to being natural and biodegradable, merino wool is very soft, breathable, sleek, elegant and exceptionally stylish. In contrast to synthetics, merino reacts to changes in body temperature and helps you stay warm when the weather is cold, and cool when the weather is hot. It’s also exquisite to work with.
Koigu is a local Ontario, family-owned business whose yarn is painted, hanked, labelled and shipped by the Landra women and a small handful of local employees. While they use the efficiency of machines where they can, every skein sent out into the world is lovingly painted by hand and is a truly unique work of art.
The Ruthless Crafter is proud to partner with local, handmade businesses.

About The Designer
Elizabeth Ruth is a crochet and knit designer who runs her online shop, The Ruthless Crafter, from Kitchener, Ontario CANADA. In 2017, she debuted the Monster’s Ball Collection, her first collection of originally designed crochet monster character hat patterns, kits, and limited edition pieces that were featured on news sources that include Yahoo!, NBC, CBS, & USA TODAY.
Elizabeth is known for using pops of colour. Her patterns are perfect for knitters and crocheters looking to create playful pieces.
Each pattern includes an original children’s story about the pattern’s character. The stories can be read aloud to children. The hats can be used to act out the story or as a costume where the wearer can become the character – it’s a fantastic tool to encourage imaginative play and literacy.
