How To Find A Pattern With Only A Picture

UPDATED: June 12, 2019

Many of us have inherited stash and half-done projects that we’d like to finish to honour our loved ones who passed it on to us.

Or perhaps a favourite garment or blanket has been so loved and used that it is time for a new one to be made but we can’t find the original pattern.

In my Ravelry groups, the most common question people seem to ask is “what pattern is this?” and then they share a picture in desperate hopes someone can identify it or point them in the right direction.

Well, Tamara Kelly over at Moogly has just the solution with this tutorial on how to find a crochet or knit pattern with only a picture.

This is going to be a game changer. Thank you, Tamara!!

I do not trust words. I even question answers. But I never doubt patterns.

  1. Wow Elizabeth, what a great idea! Thank you so much for sharing. It really works. It would be helpful if it expanded to include sewing & quilting.
