As I mentioned a few times (here and here), I participated in three craft shows this November. It was a good experience and opportunity to promote my The Ruthless Crafter business. Over the next few days I will highlight the items that I made. Some of them you will find for sale on my Etsy shop. Today I am showing you my reindeer and polar bear Christmas tree skirt. My favourite part of this one is the scalloped edges – so elegant!
In October I wrote about Snowman Hats I created for a customer. (You can read about it here). After I posted and shared it on my social media, I was contacted to create two more for Christmas gifts for some young girls. Here is the second round – I can’t get over how adorable this pattern is! A client hired me to make three Christmas stockings for herself, her fiance, and her dog. Here is the FREE pattern I used from Yarnspirations. Instead of cross stitching, I used the chart and colour-worked the images as I crocheted. I also found a chart for letters and added them to the top of the stocking. This afternoon I will be at my third and final craft show for the season. Three weekends in a row sitting and smiling and engaging potential present and future clients. I believe it is important to have a presence in the community for word of mouth and face-to-face to be a potential business attraction. I know myself I prefer to do business with people who I “know” rather than a sterile webpage. I have been sewing and quilting like mad recently to get ready for the November Christmas craft shows I’m participating in. I had one last weekend, today and my final one will be next weekend.
