The Ruthless Chatter
I am participating in The Crochet Crowd’s Stitch-cation Summer Crochet Challenge. Here are my first blocks using the “popcorn” stitch. In addition to learning new stitches for the blocks we are being challenged to use at least 8 different colours. I will make an afghan with all the blocks in this challenge.
This past Winter 2014 I designed this Santa hat and beard for my 6 year old son based on the Cabbage Patch craze. It was the perfect hat for the cold winter that just passed. I created this pattern but did not write it down. To make it I mashed a few different patterns. Check out my Ravelry page to see more details on the patterns I referenced if you want to make your own.
This was a really fun crochet-along and the first one I’ve ever participated in by The Crochet Crowd. http://thecrochetcrowd.com/closet/ The final touches were the most fun as it became a family affair. Hubby came up with the idea of a uni-brow, Grandma J came up with the idea to make it fuzzy, and my 6 year old son wanted the mouth and teeth just so. Not sure you can tell but the bottom tooth is a half-tooth to represent my son’s new half-grown bottom tooth. Monster was completed July 29, 2014
On July 30, 2014 I joined the graphghan trend and completed my very first graphghan of Hello Kitty. It was a lot easier than I thought to get started. First I searched online for a graph of Kitty. When I found the one I wanted to depict in the crochet blanket, I simply printed the chart and designed the rest of the afghan around her. What do you think?
