I am thrilled that everyone who wears my handcrafted hats and quilts knows they are getting a quality item worthy of their loved one.
Before I created The Ruthless Crafter in 2014, I was a stay-at-home mother of two, stuck in the repetition of the every day.
Then one day I decided to use the crafting skills I learned as a young girl from my Italian Nonna to break up the routine and I found myself making a lot of things for my children in a quiet corner while they napped. It was important to me to create handmade treasures from my heart and hands for them to wear and cherish.
I was concerned that the handmade market was over-saturated and that few people would be interested in purchasing quality items when mass produced items are readily available at a low cost.
As my passion grew for crafting and, with the encouragement of family and friends, I was soon so busy with orders I realized it was time to open my shop.
I set out to create the most breathtaking designs for the most cherished darling in your life.
It turns out, the road was more difficult than I imagined.
Raising two children and running a home daycare left little time for me to focus on my creative business. The interest in custom orders was incredible but, without a plan, it was difficult to properly organize the orders that were coming in.
Finding a fabulous business coach, who showed me how to set up a handmade business and create product collections, put me on a solid path to serve my customers with items they can’t wait to own.
It has taken longer than I care to admit but I finally have the know-how to act on all of the creative ideas swirling about in my head.
Through it all, I released my first product line and the response has been incredible!
Today, my little corner has been replaced with a studio that affords me the opportunity to share my gift of crafting with others.
Owning a handmade item is a tradition I believe everyone should enjoy and I am honoured you have considered The Ruthless Crafter to create one (or more!) for you and your loved ones.
XOXO ~ Elizabeth
