40th Anniversary Canvas Painting Gift

My parents just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in January.

Being a creative type I thought it would be fitting to make them something in celebration. I looked up a lot of ideas but this particular item kept popping up and catching my eye.

I used this as my inspiration and came up with this…

40th Anniversary Gift TRC
I believe 40 is the ruby anniversary, hence the bold “ruby” font and tree leaves.

 

It feels so good to give from the hand and heart.

Monster’s University Mystery Crochet-Along

This was a really fun crochet-along and the first one I’ve ever participated in by The Crochet Crowd. http://thecrochetcrowd.com/closet/ The final touches were the most fun as it became a family affair. Hubby came up with the idea of a uni-brow, Grandma J came up with the idea to make it fuzzy, and my 6 year old son wanted the mouth and teeth just so. Not sure you can tell but the bottom tooth is a half-tooth to represent my son’s new half-grown bottom tooth. Monster was completed July 29, 2014
