In July 2018, I closed my home daycare. I never dreamed I’d be in a position to have a nomination for an award for my new endeavour a short time after!

I believe it is the power of positive, like-minded women who have propelled me where I am now.

Since I’ve been out of the traditional business world for over a decade, it was important to me that I align myself with like-minded women. I am thankful to have found a group of Mompreneurs who are definitely my kinda ladies (moms, business owners, and all-around awesome) that meet regularly.

The one amazing thing about this group is that they welcomed me with open arms right from the beginning.

What Is Mompreneur?

Mompreneurs “support, educate, and empower moms in business. We are dedicated to bringing the businesses and talents of moms in business and female entrepreneurs into recognition for our collective community.

Our network encourages and facilitates connecting members to other women and businesses across Canada, providing affordable ways for female entrepreneurs to promote their businesses, advocating for female entrepreneurs and women in business both locally and nationally, and creating an online presence for female entrepreneurs in one centralized location.” source

Nomination

Mompreneurs has given me wonderful friends and I’ve also been blessed by having been nominated for a Mompreneur Award.

To have my handmade business recognized by my peers warms my heart and brings a bounce to my step. When you work by yourself, it’s easy to get lost in the to do’s and lose sight of your accomplishments. This nomination is an important step in my own appreciation of how far I’ve come in my business.

Will You Vote For Me?

Voting runs from December 9 until December 15, 2019. You can vote once every 24 hours. Thanks if you can – it would mean a lot!!

Thank you for your support for me and my business. I’m excited to keep creating knit and crochet character hats, patterns, and children’s books to tell each character’s story.

Until next time, may the yarn be with you.

Elizabeth

Crochet Bearded Santa Hat

This past Winter 2014 I designed this Santa hat and beard for my 6 year old son based on the Cabbage Patch craze. It was the perfect hat for the cold winter that just passed. I created this pattern but did not write it down. To make it I mashed a few different patterns. Check out my Ravelry page to see more details on the patterns I referenced if you want to make your own.
